ABC Bullion Monthly Market Update September 2025

Precious metal markets continued to break record highs this month, with gold rising up toward AUD $5,865 per troy ounce (oz), while silver is now trading above AUD $71.60oz

Further conviction around U.S. rate cuts, a falling US dollar, concern around excessive equity market valuations, strong ETF inflows and the recent US government shutdown continue to underpin precious metal demand, while speculative positioning is also helping to drive prices. The rally has been reinforced by momentum funds and safe-haven demand, with gold carving out fresh highs and silver extending its bull market run.
