Handcrafted by the artisans at ABC Bullion’s sister company W.J. Sanders, the Cup is crafted to meet the exacting specifications of the Victoria Racing Club. Every curve, angle and dimension needs to be within 1/10 of a millimetre of the original design. This year following an independent valuation, the 18ct Gold Lexus Melbourne Cup is now valued over $600,000, making it one of the most prized trophies in world sport.
The Cup is the definition of being Australian Made - the Gold is mined, refined, and handcrafted in Australia.
This year’s Making of the Cup Film focuses on the man with the best title in Australian Sport - Joe McGrath, the Keeper of the Cup. Joe has been pivotal in driving the Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour annually which sees the Cup tour hundreds of communities across Australia, New Zealand and other countries around the world. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Cup Tour of which ABC Bullion is a proud sponsor.
